Who Are We?

HIT" stands for the three main areas within the Greater Harrismith

  • Harrismith

  • Intabazwe

  • Tsiame

Restoring Integrity to the Greater Harrismith

The total collapse of local governance has left residents and businesses abandoned. Infrastructure failure is no longer a risk—it is our daily reality.

  • Potholes and unsafe roads
  • Broken street lights
  • No refuse removal
  • Sewage leaks and pollution
  • Water cuts for days
  • Frequent electricity outages and poor maintenance of the electrical grid
  • Dirty public spaces and no public toilets
  • “Inaccurate or missing accounts, which makes it impossible to pay correctly for services.”
  • Etc.

Because our municipality continues to fail in its basic service delivery, young professionals such as doctors, attorneys, dentists and others are unwilling to relocate to Harrismith. Potential investors who could create jobs and opportunities for local residents are also put off by these conditions and choose not to invest here.
