HIT Residents Association Repaired: Massive storm water leak at 16 De Villiers Street Harrismith4/12/2020 Following the letter that was written by HIT Residents Association management on 08 April 2020: Maluti-A-Phofung did not repair the blocked storm pipes that's been causing damage to properties in De Villiers Street for longer than a year! This problem has been rapported to the Municipal offices on numerous occasions. But... these complaints fell on deaf ears just like many other complaints... Maluti-A-Phofung made no attempt to avoid any further damage to Mr Fourie's and surrounding properties. They simply did not pitch! The whole garden is covered under water, it's so bad that residents can hardly enter their home through their own front door! This problem is really very bad. After digging one can see that the soil totally soaked in water. No wonder the residents of 16 De Villiers Street and surrounding neighbours are suffering damage to their properties and so much discomfort. While inspecting the problem and how it can be fixed, it was found that the storm water pipe has a hole in it and it was dry because of a blockage... A contractor was hired by the HIT Residents Association to repair the blocked storm drains. A hole in the pipe, just before the blockage ... Water runs down in to the storm drain once the blockage is cleared. Blockage is cleared and water can drain freely now... With time all the excess water will drain away. Maluti-A-Phofung is failing in delivering services to it's residents whilst happily receiving monthly payment.... They don't even pitch up to do repairs. What a disgrace! #Harrismith #Intabazwe #Tshiame #HITResidentsAssociation #BlockedStormPipe #MAPfailsatservicedelivery #Maluti-A-Phofung #DisgracefulMunicipality
