MAP FACTS #08 - ELECTRICITY COLLECTED VS PAID OVER TO ESKOM

HOW DO WE INTERPRET THE ABOVE MENTIONED FIGURES?

1. Figures obtained from official government records.

2. From 2009 to 2013 it seems that Eskom was paid on a regular basis including some arrears.

3. Something seriously wrong with the figures in 2014 and 2015 and it is obvious that a total accounting disaster took place.

4. All hell seemed to break loose in 2016 and 2017 with MAP only paying a faction of the collected monies over to Eskom = R 200 million and R 72 million

5. No official figures are available for 2018, 2019 and 2020.

6. Should MAP at any time differ with these figures, please provide the correct figures
